You may qualify for a substantial 30% tax credit, capped at $2,000 annually, which covers both the purchase and installation costs of the unit.
- This new 30% tax credit is applicable to appliances installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032. To seize this benefit, customers should make a claim when filing their taxes using IRS Form 5695, listed under the “Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit” section. As proof of purchase and installation cost, retain your purchase receipt.
- For eligibility, ensure the manufacturer's certificate confirms the stove's qualification for the credit and attests to its efficiency of at least 75% HHV (Higher Heating Value). It's worth noting that while wood and pellet stoves qualify, gas stoves unfortunately do not.
